After all the rumors and speculations, Samsung has finally announced the Galaxy Note 8 launch date. The Galaxy Note 8 will be announced on August 23rd in New York. Just like the Galaxy S8 announcement event, Samsung will be live streaming the event on its website.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is expected to feature a 6.3-inch dual-curved edge Super AMOLED Infinity Display, bigger than the one on Galaxy S8 Plus. Early rumors had suggested that Samsung could offer a 4K resolution display with the Galaxy Note 8, but as of now, it seems more likely that Samsung will stick with the 1440p resolution.
Under the hood, things are expected to remain similar to the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. In some markets such as the US, the Galaxy Note 8 will run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core SoC. In most other markets, it will be powered by Exynos 8895 chipset. In terms of memory, Galaxy Note 8 will be Samsung’s first flagship to feature 6GB of RAM. While storage hasn’t been confirmed, rumors suggest it could be offered in 64GB and 128GB variants.
At the back, the Galaxy Note 8 is expected to support a 12MP + 12MP dual-camera setup with OIS. On the front, we may see the same 8MP autofocus camera as found on the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. The battery capacity is still not confirmed though some sources suggest it to be a 3300 mAh battery.
Apart from upgraded internals, the Galaxy Note 8 will also include an improved S-Pen with a number of new features and enhanced functionality.
The Note 7 came in at about $850, so expect the cost to start there. With more expensive parts, like a second camera and a bezel less design could hike up the price. The Price is expected to be at $900 which roughly translates about 63,000 Indian Rupees. We’ll see the exact pricing on the Galaxy Note 8 launch date.
